Hernandez passed away May 25, 2007, with all his family and many close friends at his bedside. He endured a long battle with complications from diabetes. He was born March 15, 1925, in Runge, Texas to Serapio and Jacinta Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Olivia Barrera and brother, Ernesto Hernandez. He married Maria Flores on September 17, 1950.

He was baptized as of Jehovah's Witnesses on September 7, 1963, and enjoyed many years of service as an ordained minister serving as congregation elder, volunteer worker on Kingdom Hall building projects, and conducting free home Bible studies, helping several to make their own dedication to serve God for the rest of their lives, including Louis Castillo, Rodolfo Rodriguez, and Manuel Gonzales. He worked at Corn Products for 25 years and CC Petrochemicals for 8 more years as a mechanic millwright until his retirement. He was born on November 21, 1938 to Edward and Mary Scanlan Barragy in Houston, Texas. Professor Barragy also served on the Corpus Christi Landmark Commission, was a published author, and a member of the Longhorn Breeders Association. She was born on December 3, 1942 and raised in La Gloria, Santa Elena, Texas. She married her husband, Faustino Garza, of 44 years on September 1, 1962. Chris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She graduated from San Isidro High School in 1960 and continued her education, obtaining a bachelor and master's degree from Texas As a teacher, administrator and elementary school principal, she was a mentor and touched the lives of thousands of Corpus Christi students and teachers. Chris devoted much of her time to many educational, religious and service organizations. Chris greatest joy in life was devoting her love to her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and sewing. She especially enjoyed quilting for her loved ones.

Her kitchen was always a welcoming place and the center of activity in her home. She will always be remembered for her loving spirit, a de ers hip, compassion, dignity and beautiful smile. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacobo and Eliboria Saenz and her younger brother, Jacobo A. Fr. Gant was ordained a priest on May 15, 1982 in the Italy. And a priest of the Society of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Fr. Gant had a devotion Saint Joan of Arc.

Father Gant was asked in February, 2000 to become the of a newly formed Catholic Lay Apostolate, the Friends Apostolate that was founded in January, 2000. Father readily remained as the sole Spiritual Director of this Apostolate for his death on May 26, 2007. The mission of the Apostolate is to bring as many souls Jesus, through Mary, by fostering the Saint Louis de Consecration devotion worldwide, by providing free de Montfort for Total Consecration packages to those pledging to to Jesus, through Mary. During Father's tenure, more than 152,600 Total Consecration were mailed to requesters from 101 countries; and the 468 members residing in 45 countries. Growth in the last been exponential, including parish consecrations, with special offer free packages to Bishops, Priests and Seminarians the month of April 2007, the Apostolate provided 26.000 request of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines country-wide consecration sponsored by the Bishops in Father Gant's sound Spiritual advice and his ability to answer difficult theological questions have been invaluable to the Apostolate.

The founders of the Apostolate have asked Father Gant watch over them, to pray for the ministry, and to Apostolate's Patron Saints. Father graciously agreed, and Louis de Montfort, Saint Maximilian Kolbe, Saint Padre Pio, Il and Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen as a Patron Saint of the Lady Apostolate. The Apostolate looks forward to seeking and intercession to further this special devotion to throughout the world. Father has graciously given the Apostolic Blessing to the him so much.

The ministry was twice blessed: first, by Spiritual Director for seven years, and secondly by support as a Patron Saint Apostolate."
